Me!

Hi, I’m Daniel Lightening, a freelance photographer based in the fine city of Norwich. I live with my beautiful wife Ruth and our three children, Sam, Poppy & Rosie. The family is made complete by Oscar & Teddy, our excitable dogs

I'll get this out of the way first, I prefer to be called Bubby, it's been my nickname since birth and has pretty much stuck so let's go with that.

what makes me tick

'life is short, enjoy the good times'

I obviously love photography and am blessed to make a living doing what I love. Away from photography I adore the 80’s & 90’s and long for the summer of ’96, retro games consoles (SNES always), movies (faves are In Bruges, Moon, anything by Tarantino, De Niro & Scorsese) parma violets, craft beers, making pizza, live music, and as with most people with an addictive/hoarding personality anything that makes them feel nostalgic.

Never happier than when enjoying a North Sea Coffee while walking the dogs along the North Norfolk Coast & the highlight of every year is spending it at Latitude with family and friends, such a magical few days and we always make the best memories.
